Cambridge Technology, Inc. Announces the Model 6215H
A Performance Breakthrough in Closed Loop Galvanometer ScannersCambridge, MA and San Jose, CA, January 27, 2004– Cambridge Technology, Inc., the market leader in galvanometer-based optical scanning technology, today announced another product innovation for high-speed scanning applications. The 6215H, the latest addition to the CTI 6200 Product line has the highest rms acceleration available on the market and is targeted at demanding high frequency scanning applications such as raster scanning for imaging, OCT, microscopy, display, projection, inspection, and a broad range of other 1-6mm aperture applications. This technology innovation results in a 60 watt, 54mm (2.16-inch) tall scanner that is unparalleled in today's market. "Our imaging customers have achieved 2kHz scanning speeds, while our laser projection customers have achieved 60kpps at 7.5 degrees, much more than what any other galvanometer-based scanner can provide. This increased performance enhances our customer's product offering as well as opens new market opportunities for their products." Redmond P. Aylward, President of Cambridge Technology, Inc. said. "When compared to the industry standard CTI 6210, the 6215H provides more than a 50% increase in maximum rms frequency and is the lowest dollar-per-watt galvo on the market." The 6215H will be available during the first quarter of 2004. Cambridge Technology, Inc. is the market leader in closed-loop, galvanometer based optical scanning components and supporting products. These products provide superior scanning performance to a wide variety of applications including laser marking, engraving, drilling, machining and treating, biomedical applications in Ophthalmology, DNA sequencing, and Confocal Microscopy, laser entertainment and projection, and any application where laser beam steering is required.
